My phone woke me up this morning with an email at around 6am to say £30 had been added to my PSN account from my credit card. Rather strange as I was in bed. Then whilst in the midst of confusion of trying to get into my PSN account and delete the card another £30 had been added! Luckily I deleted the card off my account and changed the account password as well as contact my credit card and block it. I have £60 in my PSN wallet now so they havent spent it after transfering it.

I have no idea what the moron who got into my account were going to do with the money, as surely anything bought stays on my account?

Getting onto the account with the PS4 was so slow, literally I thought it had crashed several times, should have done it off my PC but I was panic state.

Please delete your cards off your PSN.

I've never gave out my passwords to anyone whether it be friend or on the net. I have no idea how my password had been obtained. I've only ever logged into the PSN on a PC once about 2 years ago. Anyone know how they got my password?

The fraud department from the credit company will be ringing me after 9am as that's when they start but my cards got a temporary block till then.

I cannot remember how it turned out (the one instance it may have been an auto renewal for PSN), do you play Fifa?

Also be prepared to possibly have your account blocked by Sony whilst they investigate if you report it to them.

Most of the time when somebody gains access to a PSN or Xbox Live account they try to buy as much FIFA points as they can to open packets, they will then trade them to their account to sell on eBay or trade for coins to sell on.

go into account management and then services list and see if there is anything set to auto renew but then credit wouldn't still be there - but i would do this to make sure something isn't set to auto renew in future.

therefore they must have been wanting credit to then buy packs on fifa to sell for coins.

1 million coins on fifa is worth up to £100 for example.

I just checked my account and removed my card just encase, but also noticed that auto renew for subscriptions etc was automatically set to on. So it could have been that as mentioned above.

I never put my details into PSN, I have done everything through pre-paid cards. I don't like the thought of anything being able to auto-renew or be bought without futher verification. I would advise any one else to do the same.

Besides you can buy pre-paid cards / PSPlus subscriptions for much less than they are charging on PSN.

The OP's account will most likely be banned from accessing the PSN anyway since the transactions have been reported as fraudulent to the bank and they will refund the money causing sony to implement a ban on the account as they will see it as them being owed the money that has been transferred to the account.

Had my Xbox account hack and I told myself that I was never going to have a visa card on any machine, I use voucher cards now its easier

It's not auto renewal or anything like that because it wouldn't put money into your Playstation wallet, it will have just bought an extension of the service it was auto-renewing. This should be obvious to the people who are suggesting it's auto-renewal.

Also cheaper to use prepaid cards, you can get £50 of xbox credit for under £40 on cdkeys.

Do you use the same password for any other online accounts?

Naw

The credit card company rang back at around 9 like they said they would. They were so helpful refunded my money straight away no fuss, sent out a new card on priority delivery and cancelled the other. They said there always getting calls regarding sony and also paypal.

On the other hand i rang sony and after around 20 minutes of waiting i finally spoke to someone who sounded like they couldnt care less! They wouldnt refund me until they have investigated the situation even though the money was still in my wallet. They also said it was probably down to someone trying to buy fifa players to sell by the sounds of it but he did say that was just speculation.

Hopefully my account doesnt get blocked or deleted as it has 10 months ps plus and around £100 of add ons and games bought on it. Sony do indeed suck so far.
