Hi guys, just crashed my e92 into the central reservation on motorway at 70 mph having mis timed an overtake. Worst day ever!

Managed to drive it off the motorway has front panel damage (not a metal panel) door scratches which may be repairable. Front spoiler damage, rear spoiler damage, and rear driver side panel damage (the one that goes all the way over window trim) front suspension damage too as steering is way out.

Think insurance will write it off? Has 128k on it

Anybody know of any good repair shops in Liverpool region?

Thanks a lot

I believe "scratch" on these forums did something very similar to his E92 335i and he got his car repaired, so might be worth trying to find his posts. IIRC his car is worth more than yours though, but I could be wrong.

I'm left wondering how anyone 'mistimes' an overtake when there isn't anything coming the other way? What happened? Did you not see someone in your blind spot or did someone not see you and pulled out?

mistimed i meant my speed was too much for the manouvre and road was wet and turned into a bend. not blaming anyone else at all here, just

was a nsl 3 lane motorway changing to a two lane motorway before it became 3 lanes again.

im guessing garage will quote prices for all panels! suspension on front is damaged too

Aye Cat C I'd guess.
If you do claim mate check how much they want off you to keep the car.
I kileld my Ibiza, Insurance company charged me £146 to keep it... sold it to a breaker for £300 :D

Wing £100
Spraying side of the car £1000
Suspension and Geometry £400

You will be fine.

My 04 330d with 150k in 2009 was rear ended. It was valued at the time around £4500 and it was repaired at the dealer for £3000.

I think you are underestimating the costs, considering you have entire parts of the car missed off that list!

It looks like the front alloy has also taken a knock?

thanks for all replies so far. really hoping it will be repairable. but im guessing they will come back with price for new alloy/new headlight etc whereas i wouldnt mind a minor scruff on the headlight.

i guess you cant tell the preferred repairers that you just want the main damage (suspension and side panels) repaired. so guess it will be bad news :/

I'd go with write-off too considering with that many miles it probably isn't worth that much?

Front bumper
Front driver's side wing
Headlight
Driver's door
Rear quarter
Rear bumper
Side skirt
2 wheels?
Suspension damage?

Basically half your car may need replacing (or at least repairing) and repainting. Just the repaint will probably be a couple of grand.

Did a proper job. How did you hit the central reservation?

I guess your car is worth about £7500 going by http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...code/nr172hd/body-type/coupe/page/1?logcode=p
