What have you done to your car today?

Did something I've never really done before which is go for a drive for the sake of going for a drive and nothing else... well I wanted to try out the GoPro Hero 3 I bought four months ago and barely touched until now. Mounted the GoPro a little low down to be honest (didn't want to use the massive skeleton and have that stuck on the windscreen) so I stuck the bare camera under the passenger headrest and aimed the camera up as much as possible, but it wasn't enough to get a clear line of sight over the dashboard.

Anyway, ended up getting stuck behind an AA van towing none other than my dad in his girlfriends C4 Grand Picasso. That car always breaks when my dad drives it. So this time there will be a permanent reminder of this on YouTube :p

Oh joy the water pump is goosed too.

Kerching

Carried on with cleaning out and fitting the oil filter housing and the centrifugal filter housing anyway.

Looking through the owners manual (don't have a clue what any of it says!) and saw this. Anyone have any ideas what the images mean?

I can understand the first one being about a child, but I am not sure about the second!

Today I spent far longer than was neccesary removing this little *******

Now, my dad kills queen wasps for a living, so I'm no stranger to rusty, crappy disc retaining screws but this thing was either hewn from granite, or I had a bit of an unlucky day all round (/incompetency, let's face it)

Bloody drill overheated before really even touching it, cordless drill nothing like enough power, dremel didn't really have cutting discs small enough and as its recessed slightly that makes it hard to do anything other than cut a little bit of the hub, so I ended up just beating the crap out of it with a chisel then punch to knock it round.

I only started about 4pm so by the time it came off it was getting dark and I felt a bit unsociable smacking the disc which has welded itself to the hub so have given up, finish tomorrow

Good thing I'm not a mechanic, I'd be very poor and have some really unhappy customers

Won't work with the BMW screws as they're recessed a bit, hence the cutting discs weren't much use either....well they would have been only the smaller ones have long since reached the end of their life.

Edit - the disc is going back on btw hence I couldnt just destroy it, only need to fix the handbrake shoes/backplate

Best way to attack them is a small chisel, never failed to get a drub screw out a disc that way :)

And well spotted I do have a Snap-On tool chest :p

The slightest sign of not turning and I usually just drill them straight off tbh - lazy but reverse drive bits mean normally it just comes out without destroying the threads, quick and easy...usually

fully prepared her for her annual taxi inspection including a rather expensive new foglight, swapping some faded bulbs over and a bit of general housekeeping,

then following that, managed I suspect to write it off,

damage is rather substaincial, rear suspension damage steering rack, front suspension, chassis leg is twisted from what I can see plus the obvious damage, I don't think she'll be coming back

Certainly looks like there will be a fair old amount of chassis damage there.

Was that on the standing water on the m74 by any chance? I went through it yesterday at pace( paying zero attention obviously) with cruise on, nearly **** myself

Added an Aux input cable for the audio system the other day. Fairly straightforward and works perfectly, had to remove quite a lot of trim to do it though:

My guess would be that the lap part is too high... it's up round his waist!
