Stop unwanted SMS, ads to mobiles

Not obvious at all, because what he and you said is complete tosh, one is not linked to the other.
You did not receive calls due to Dominos.

I received SMS messages from Dominos regarding vouchers on a weekly basis at least after using my number when ordering a takeaway from them.

It is remarkable where they get your number, for example I use burner phones when hunting for insurance and only when taking out a policy do they get my real number, because otherwise I'm just going to get hounded with crap afterwards.

By Selecting the option. There for it is not spam.
I don't receive any such texts or calls from dominos.

I didn't select an option there for it and since blocked them, and this is a common story for I think every person in the world with every organisation, except for you I guess.

Lol, so they're breaking the law and people like me who have their phone number on such sites just lie?

No, you just fail at reading and just click stuff.

I've had just one spam phone call in ~2 years, no idea how they got it, but they never phoned back anyway. Its not hard to keep your number out if such hands, just don't use real number unless needed and check what you need to click or unclick.

Glaucus is right - you didn't tick/untick the box that referred to using your details for promotions or sales material etc.

Every site I've ever been on has some sort of box that I read carefully. Sometimes you tick for no contact, sometimes you don't. You need to read it carefully.

I don't get any unwanted calls, SMS' etc. from any company that I have not explicitly told them they can contact me.

In some cases they do break the law yes, and there also happens to be more than one country in the world too! Strangely the entire earth is not under UK jurisdiction.

And I would say having automatically checked tickboxes (which I believe is illegal in itself) constitutes unwanted spam.

Plus you are not even taking into account people randomly entering your number into websites and the fact that mobile numbers are recycled, which has led to me getting calls asking for the previous owner of the number trying to sell me things!
