What MMORPG's are people playing?

Currently on FF14, but only really because my other half likes it so its something we can play together. Personally I think its sadly lacking content and something......

The Secret World, http://www.thesecretworld.com/

storyline and quests rivaling most single player rpgs, modern setting, not high generic fantasy, somewhat more challenging than most mmos, nice gfx and a fun end game. let down somewhat by the usual funcom bugs but definitely worth a look. plus its buy to play so no sub, cash shop mostly cosmetic and convenience items and some quest dlc, no real pay to win stuff which is also a plus.

FFXIV, but until 2.2 comes out there's very little content for my raid group and I, so we're all looking at ESO - hopefully that'll fill the gap between our hour-long FFXIV content each week.

Dabbled in EVE, Neverwinter and Guild Wars 2 over the last few months. Nothing seems to be sticking though. Wish I would have started EVE earlier.

I loaded Neverwinter last night and it's better than I thought it would be. It's like DDO, but brighter :)

Also been playing SWTOR recently - but that may go on hold while I explore the potential for Neverwinter.

None..

Only posting as that's the first time since 1997 that I've been able to say that! Nothing really grabs me at the moment or the past 6 months tbh.

-Star Wars: The Old Republic (The Red Eclipse server, level 55 Juggernaut called Wescar).
-The Lord of the Rings Online (Snowbourn server, level 27 Guardian called Wescar, Rank 8 Warg called Andraiz).
-Guild Wars 2 (Can't remember the level, but i'm still in the Ascalonian Ruins area. Charr, Thief on Desolation server).
-Star Trek Online (Recently installed, so haven't logged in yet, but i was a Commander).

I've been playing Neverwinter pretty solidly for about 10 months. It seems to have just the right amount of content for me to maintain my interest. playing for 1 or 2 hours a day is more than enough to keep 3 Characters ticking over and progressing, but if I want a 6 hour session then I don't run out of things to do.

It doesn't do anything new, but it has a decent community and they seem to be making constant improvements and additions.

Some of the environments are fantastic, particularly when you hit level 40+.

I always read people complaining that it is Pay to Win, but I never felt like I needed to pay in order to compete. It might take you a little longer to get where you are going, but that's kinda how F2P games have to be. You either contribute money, or you contribute your time by being an active part of the community. I can play PVP and run Epic dungeons with my guild without spending a penny.

I tried a few MMO's over the years but nothing ever really grabbed me, I think Neverwinter just arrived at exactly the right time for me to really get into it.

If anyone is getting involved with Neverwinter and would like some help, PM me and we can discuss meeting up in game. My guild is always looking for new players and I would be happy to help any OCUK members with a bit of extra gold and some advice to get you started :)

The thing is with MMOs, is they're generally good games when lots of people play them, but when you're thinking straight there is no way to justify playing them at all.

I lost 3 years to Eve online and whilst I could tell others about all the crazy intense moments I had on the game (there were 100x more boring as **** moments), you will probably only take to it if you're in that vunerable state of mind where you are looking for a time-sink.

Only other one I've touched is WoW and that was on a free trial, hated the controls so never played it again so not like I have a great deal of knowledge on MMOs, but it would honestly be hard to put together an as comprehensive pile of **** as CCP did. It sure is addictive though!

Played wildstar beta at the weekend, was simply terrible. Complete joke of a game.

Before that I haven't played a good MMO for a long time, spent a lot of time bouncing from SWTOR and WoW. Probably the longest time I've spent outside a MMO.

Will be picking up ESO on release and there is rumoured a beta weekend this weekend.

Lol, i have been following both eso and wildstar with interest. Wildstar receives practically nothing but praise, ESO nothing but scorn. Yet you are here stating that wildstar was terrible and you are getting eso on release :P

I am looking forward to trying wildstar, if its got that wow feeling like people say then it could be great.

I can agree on the praise for wildstar, but I am not one of these people who just stick to one and flame anyone who disagrees with me.

Its not a perfect game, still bugs need fixing but from playing WoW for a long time I like the holy trinity having a roll within a group and with the templates on the floor for doging and casting is a nice change.

Yeah that appeals to me, as does the open world. Only thing putting me off is the lasers etc, i am a sucker for fantasy in my games over sci fi. But will live with it if the game is good.
