New tri-x 290 black screening all over the place, I'm gutted. At desktop and in games.

Using 13.12
Uninstalled older amd drivers with DDU before installing.
Reset CPU overclock.

Guess I can try a format but yer, doubt that's gonna fix anything. Anyone got any ideas?

Christ alive how bloody annoying.

And yes using latest bios for motherboard.

5 black screens within 15 mins. Guess so, will try a format and quadruple check everything but yer I bet it ends up going back.

What's the procedure? How long does it take on average?

errrrrrr......

Wow...

The 6 pin part of my 8 pin connector wasnt fully seated in :\

Now I feel really stupid. Probably was it, not got a black screen since at least. Will update in a bit.

I wouldn't feel silly bud, I'd be over the moon and put it down to experience.

Figures crossed! :)

Good luck!
I am returning my Tri-X 290x back - black screen on boot. But will be getting another.
I hope you get another one soon as well.

Fresh install did nothing.

Would black screen soon as heaven loaded, soon as I tried to call some one on skype, black screen when loading cs:go. Only game it didn't black screen when loading was Dayz, then if I tried changing AA or something similar to a different level it would blackscreen.

What a bloody marvelous waste of a day off work!

Out of interest how does the whole RMA procedure work?

I did get an RMA number, but no email with details. I grabbed the returns address from the FAQ's section.

I've included my original receipt in the box, plastered my RMA number over everything and included my returns address.

Anything I'm missing?

I need to phone up today to start the RMA process, couldn't play a game for more than 5 mins without a black screen that was even after down clocking it. Think I might get nvidias top card instead

also interested in this to, i recieved my 290 tri-x card yesterday. built my pc up installed windows etc etc. then fitted the card turned the computer on and no image on the screen. i have tried plugging the hdmi cable in the card connection and on the motherboard connection?

any ideas would be great?

is there anything i should have done? its a gigabyte z87-oc motherboard.

I know every product will always have a few faulty items but with the number of issues these cards are having would it maybe worth while for extra quality controls at either the manufacturer or Overclockers?
