coverage starts at 23.50 on wednesday, BBC red button. as it's in Columbia, it will be around this time each night but the beeb are also showing highlights on saturday/sunday afternoon.

obviously it goes without saying that we'll smash the women's pursuit. i also hope laura trott can win back the omnium she lost last year.

correction - we were bloody lucky to win that.

the only other medal so far has come from the women's team sprint - a bronze for becky james and jess varnish.

team GB have been a bit disappointing elsewhere. nowhere to be seen in the men's team sprint and pursuit and jason kenny could only manage 5th in the keirin - admittedly he was nearly taken out so was lucky to stay upright.

i also hope laura trott can win back the omnium she lost last year.

well it wasn't to be. sarah hammer was too good and trott ends up with silver for the 2nd year running. at least jo rowsell beat hammer in the individual pursuit to win gold on friday.

becky james also picked up a bronze in the keirin. in total our women took 2 golds, a silver and 2 bronzes.

a special mention has to go team GB's men because they won absolutely **** all.
