Recommend me a game to download on Steam

Evening All,

In between my life of work and work at the football I'm finding i have very little free time but when i do I quite often find myself chucking on a bit of COD4. I'm looking for a bit of variety now.

My games haul consists of :-

COD4
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (played it about twice!)
Football Manager 14 (mainly cos my photos are in the game!)

I've been taking a look at a few things and just when i think i see something which could be quite good i see a review or what have you to see it is / will be a pile of poo! e.g thought Thief looked like it could be quite decent but most things I've see suggest otherwise :p

So in short recommend me a game! (and estimate a download time with a 1.2Mbs download speed)
 
Fallout 3, if you can get it cheap, it'll last you ages!

depends what type of game you want though.
 
so far in the last couple of months ive downloaded Rust (nearly 200 hours played), Banished (30 hours played, got to year 30 then loast everything to a fire even though i had a tonne of wells so i rage quit lol) and im just downloading arma 3 (will be downloading breaking point). Rust is brilliant and have really enjoyed it but wanted to try something else so bought banished which is also really good for a 1 man band. Havent tried arma 3 yet but will be playing it a lot on my 4 days off

600mb DL so won't take long at all

Rust, sandbox survival game with a mix of Minecraft and DayZ, absolutely brilliant if you have a couple of friends you can play with.
 
Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

I play competitive mode, as there's more adrenaline involved (wins/losses count for a world ranking).

If you fancy chatting to others/trading the weapon skins, then play casual.

I can think of few other but these will last you while, also the witcher 2,skyrim,fallout, fallout new vegas all have multi ending or mutli routes to take.
 
The Witcher 2, Skyrim. I used to play almost exclusively FPS until I tried these for a bit of variety. Also if you liked the idea of Thief how about Dishonored.

Are you actually downloading at 1.2MB/s or is your connection 1.2Mbps down?

If the former then a 16GB download should take around 3.5 - 4 hours.

If the latter you should be downloading at about 120-128KB/s, so for a 16GB game, thats about 38hrs ish (I think!).

Not sure if my maths has been spot on but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong :)
