Hey,
I got powerline adapters for christmas, but there appears to be something wrong somewhere. My connection will randomly drop. If i look at the NIC port on my motherboard both the LEDs are still blinking (Green for connection, orange for data transmission), and windows says i'm still connected to my home network but there is no internet. The LEDs on the powerline adapters are blinking like they're supposed to. If i restart my computer, or sometimes when I remove the ethernet cable and put it back, i get my connection back. I've tried connecting the ethernet to a laptop when this happens, and it works fine. But it also works when i put it back into the motherboard. I've also tried the troubleshooting steps on the MSI user forum (install killer drivers only, not the s/w package) but its still happening. So my questions are
1) Is there anyway to test powerline adapters?
2) Could this be an indication that there is something wrong with my NIC port?
3) Any suggestions what to do now?
4) I've heard that TP link ones are rubbish, is there any truth to that?
Thanks!
