well as some of you may know I managed to kill my current cab(a Peugeot Partner) by introducing it to the central reservation of the M8 at speed in the early hours of Monday morning.

so finding myself stuck in the house with the wife and 3 unwell kids I desperately needed a new taxi

introducing the Mondeo all being well will drive down south and pick it up tommorow

first registered December 2010 so just over 3 years old, 122k miles with full dealer history and one owner. have to say i'm quite chuffed for 5 1/2 k.

to be honest it was bought in a rush and I don't really know a great deal about this era of Mondeo, so can anyone fill in the blanks for me?

its a zetec spec so i'm assuming Climate and rear leccy windows along with Heated front screen and a few other bits and bobs.

I can only imagine its going to be a better place to spend time than a Peugeot van with windows. but I imagine only time will tell

Does it come minicab ready? Jerky gear change and smelling of sick? :p

doing a lot more airport transfers these days so maybe a silver lining on the death of the pug,

mondy I would hope will be a much better motorway mile muncher

If there's one thing the mk4 Mondeo is good at, it's mile munching. It should suit the task perfectly.

How long will it take you to double the mileage do you reckon?

that said the partner took the impact really well, although I very much doubt it will be going back on the road, drivers door wasn't sitting right, steering rack looks popped and from what I could see theres damage to the chassis leg.

Peugeot was on the road just under a year, was due its first annual taxi inspection on Monday morning 11 hours after I munched it .

mileage is currently 89900.

so I reckon 14 months to double the Mondeos.

unfortunately if I had munched the pug 2 weeks earlier it would have been under a year old and new for old would have kicked in

Interesting that you would buy a high mileage example when your mileage will be significant. What's the thinking there? Isn't this counter productive?

High mileage, if it's been motorway is wee beans to a Mondeo. If it's going to be doing motorway mileage between airports, it'll easily put twice the miles on it with little complaints.

i found myself with not a large amount of cash available 6k and in need of a sub 4 yr old estate car. not much choice out there for that kind of cash. finance was a no no as I've got a pile outstanding on the pug still so cant get anything in place till that's settled. problem is if that takes 3/4 weeks that's 3/4 weeks work lost.

sure it will be a capable workhorse even if its only for a year

Looks a tidy car tbh, Check the service history especially cam belt. Brake ans suspension, No real reason to to worry. It's a ford.
