My beloved mr2 turbo has been written off due to a front wing incident (mot my fault) :(

I can basically go to 7 k if needed and I want sporty but not ott as my ins will go up regardless of fault.

I don't want to pay 450 a year tax and only drive 10 miles a day max but I park in a shady ish area so I'm reluctant to go too flash. And it has to be under 10 years old as I'm not willing to deal with rusty sills.

Celica t sport is on the list. ..possibly a golf ..anything else I should be looking at?

Fn2, vrs etc. Is a 350z too "look at me"?

If you really wanted to go discrete something like a late 330i touring or saloon might be worth checking

Can't find a mk3 mr2 with a 2zz?

I think youre a bit stuck, there really isnt much from the last 10 years thats actually exciting without having to pay through the absolute nose for.

350z (not exactly perfect)
S2000 (insurance, attracting too much attention)

does a 3.0 Z4 (maybe a coupe) fall into the budget?

A focus/mondeo if you drive it to a station to be left there all day. Really is little point having anything decent as there is too much risk to make it worthwhile. Either get a £1k runaround and spend £6k on something nicer for the weekends or just spend the £1k and bank the rest.

You are right of course which is why I've been looking at 3 grand celica. .which offer relatively low cost / insurance with alright performance but it's more fun than a Ford focus etc..

the Teg is better than the celica but also probably double tje price and insurance cost...

id settle for an Almera GTI if I could find one.

350z was a possibility I just don't like the idea of parking it out on the road alm day near the train station where I'd leave it

I see all sorts of cars parked near stations and nothing seems to happen to them. If you're that worried about having a nice car and the MR2 only has a damaged wing, why not buy it back and repair it?

I am buying it back and breaking the car as the cost to repairs going to be 1.5k. someone pulled out and drove into me from a sidestreet like i wasnt there as i drove past at 30mph...
