Needs a bit of pdr and the front end could do with a respray. Wasn't best bit pleased bit of haggling later and a thorough check of everything else I got a fee hundred quid off and she's now up in Glasgow. Already had her up on the ramp and surprisingly it seems to have had a proper mot everything's as it should be so fingers crossed plated and on the rank for the weekend

Wouldn't an MX-5 have been a better fit than the Mondeo?

Bought my TDCi Mondeo at a similar age for similar money and ran it up to big miles. Never needed any work beyond consumables and it's still running fine. My mate had one very similar; same age but with half the miles, and it threw its flywheel.
It's a diesel, so it's a risk but I don't think mileage has much to do with it at all! I did 25k a year when I had it. Seems like a great buy to me for a taxi, I'd much rather drive that than the Peugeot van it's replacing

My 2008 2.0 diesel Mondeo was belt driven with a 125k interval.
yup belt over one cam and chain between the 2 cams
It's erm big got it up the road last night 170 miles from the dealer to home yielded a solid 59mpg which was rather good papers lodged with the council this morning and taxi test booked for tommorow morning 08:10 am all being well with that I'll lodge the pass certificate with the council when they open at 9 radio install booked for 11 and hopefully be working for 11:30
