Well there are various chartered accounting qualifications. The main 2 these days are either ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).

As a member of the AAT you get exemptions from the first 3 exams in ACCA (of which here are 14!)

I've done F1-3 and F5. Sitting F9 and resit of F4 in June. F4 is law, I find it so boring so didn't really study it much last time round. Now every saturday morning 9-12 is studying, fun times.

Yes it is el_dazza, basically the next step after AAT.

Good luck in F9. I found that really tough. Although my tutor didn't help matters.

I've only got my last 2 option papers to go. But am doing the advanced version of F5 as I really enjoyed that module.

Law I didn't mind either and did a lot better at than I expected to.

Celtic hadn't conceded a goal in like 3 months or something stupid before tonight if i remember in the league.

Check the Cheltenham vs Chesterfield game....4 goals in 6mins by Chesterfield in first half. :p

5 times in the past 4 years i've won £1,000 or more and every time it's gone again within 8 weeks.

As long as you aren't making a net loss I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Twice in the past 18 months I've got my profit up over £10k but it has always fallen back again close to breakeven. After the first time, I said to myself "if I ever get back up to £10k I will quit while I am ahead" - but that never happened :p

Part of the 'problem' I find is that due to addictive nature of gambling and big rush you get from a win, I sometimes find myself 'hunting' bets i.e. desperately looking around for something to bet on rather than sticking with what I know. Also like with most addictions you need bigger and bigger doses (winnings) to achieve the same high. 10 years ago I would literally be betting a few quid here and there - maybe up to £20 on rare occasions. Nowadays I think nothing of staking hundreds of pounds at a time.

Nowadays I am trying to stick to my 'safe' markets i.e. about 80% on Premiership football with the remaining 20% on other football that I have at last some knowledge of. No random foreign leagues, no snooker or whatever. If that means I have to go a week without betting, so be it.

Oh I should say I easily an down over the last 6 years. I have to do it because I don't want it to impact my girlfriend in any way because of my lack of control. I did exactly that earlier - chase for the hell of it. I got silly very quickly and knew I was going to lose.

Well, good decision dazza if you can't control it. Personally I do it for fun and if I can make money at the same time then great, but I do try to stick to Prem/Champs games.

Also bet on live games when watching just to make it more fun, but that's always small amounts.

I limit myself to £5 a month on SkyBet (always guarenteed to get "5BONUS" too making it a tenner).

If I have £10+ after a few bets I bank it and wait another month.

From 01/01/2013 to 31/12/2013 I deposited £75 (introduced limit into the year) and withdrew £71.25 so not bad spending £3.75 on a bit of entertainment.

So far this year it is deposited £10 (plus 10 from bonuses) withdrew £24 so £14 up.

Overall a profit of £10.25 in 13 months, check me out.

Like others have said my downfall is getting bored and betting on stuff I know nothing about (e.g. X is beating Y in tennis, put money on X even though he may be ranked 100 places lower and just started well). That and the slot machines. :)

Since 18/07/2011 (when I created the account) I have:
deposited £238.50
withdrawn £255.95
So a whopping £17.45 profit after 2 and a half years. :)

I had a big win on online slots recently and closed my account after that so I didn't go back. Most of that went on sports, went up and down for ages, lost patience and went for broke.

They do say gambling should be about entertainment and not a way to make money. You've done it exactly the right way. :)

I'd be backing any Mercedes powered cars in the F1, I really think there could be some incredible value to be found:

Hamilton is 5/2 and Rosberg 6/1 for the Australian GP, Mercedes are a country mile clear in testing and won't be caught. Biggest rule changes since 2009 when Brawn were miles clear in testing and destroyed the field for the first 7 races.

Also the ERS system is playing HAVOC with reliability, a lot of teams are failing in testing but especially Red Bull. Keep an eye out for the following markets and selections

Rosberg to win the Australian GP @ 6/1
Valtteri Bottas e-w @ 100/1
Nico Hulkenburg e-w @ 50/1
Sebastian Vettel not to finish (was always 7/1 last year, expect about 2/1 this year)
Daniel Ricciardo not to finish (as above)

Massively long shots:

Max Chilton points finish @ 20/1
Jules Bianchi points finish @ 20/1
Chilton e-w @ 5000/1
Bianchi e-w @ 5000/1

A LOT of the team principals are predicting multiple retirements, with some saying if 8 cars finish the race it'll be a miracle. Renault powered cars are struggling, cars will overheat following each other around so the impossible could happen. If a lot of cars retire (Caterham at the back are also Renault powered) then Marussia could trot around at their leisure while everyone else drops out and pick up something magical. It's certainly worth £1 each way at those odds as it's going to be incredibly unpredictable.

Had a reasonable night last night. Had an 8 fold accumulator of which i came out with a whopping £1.27 (having staked about £50 on various multiples)

Not going well then you may think. But i also had £300 on Napoli (£200 at 1.5 and then threw another £100 on at 2.38) which gave me a decent little profit.

Then had 2 other multiples

Tottenham and Napoli which won £291
Tottenham, Napoli and Benfica which won £379

Only other letdown was Fiorentina which lost me £150 but overall a decent outcome :)
