Hello....

As per the title of this little thread....

Im looking to upgrade my CPU to the new AMD FX-9590 Black Edition and im after a little advise please.

I know my current MOBO (ASUS M5A97 R2.0) wont support it.
What MOBO will be good for it and will i need to upgrade my PSU (corsair RM750)?

Current SYS:

AMD FX6635.
Corsair H100i
Asus M5A97 R2.0
16gb Corsair Vengeance Low Profile
Saphire R9 280x toxic gpu
ASUS Xonar DG PCI 5.1 sound
Coolermaster CM690 III window
4x Aerocool Shark 120mm blue
1x Bitfenix 200mm Spectre PRO
Bitfenix Recon fan controller

Im thinking an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 or an Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z?
Any other suggestions, different brands in roughly same price bracket?

Any advise and info appreciated thanks.

Best advice I got for you is to save your money and buy the 8350, the 9590 is pretty much 8350 overclocked to 5Ghz I believe. Your better to buy the 8350 and overclock it yourself.

I myself have achieved 5gz, 4.8 ghz and 4.6 ghz settings I used on the 8350 with the kraken x60. ( I mainly use my 4.8 and 4.6 settings) as the voltage increase to go from 4.6/4.8 to 5Ghz is probably not worth it (in my opinion) its your choice to stick to the amd 9590 im just giving you my personal experience and advice.

Motherboard wise i'd personally recommend an asus sabertooth or crosshair v formula z.
Definitely good quality boards, especially for overclocking.

I have two 8350 amd setups with the sabertooth R2.0 and one with the crosshair v formula-z

U'd definitely be happy with any one of them two choices. Just make sure you get a good cooling setup as you'll want to overclock your 8350 I believe

As said, the 8320 is MUCH better value.

Youll need the HIGHEST end AMD board to support the 9590 (at least £200+)

Whereas you can get a decent board for the 8320 for less than £100.

I could go with the 8320 and use the same MOBO, maybe even the 8350....
If i went with the i7 id need to change MOBO and do a full re-install, but then id have to do that with the 9590.....

Hmmmmm.......
