Hi all,

I am looking at getting back into PC gaming, the only problem is I'm not exactly confident in my DIY skills I'd also prefer if I had a warranty so I'm looking for a pre build or one of the configuration options they have on the site.

Can some one please spec me a gaming rig I will need an OS and wireless network included of my max budget of £1000 I'd prefer to get as much under that as possible though so I have more to spend on a monitor.

I'll be playing games like bf4 and some RTS games and would like of course to play these on max settings if my budget will allow this

How about this as a starting point

1 x "Dragon Army Scout" Intel Core i5 4570 @ 3.6GHz Turbo Quad Core LAN Gaming PC £441.05

Oops forgot the Wireless adapter - could you maybe use a powerline adapter instead?

Also I think if you upped your budget to about 1300 you'd get something with a lot more punch.

You're deffo set on pre built I take it? I built my first pc last August, it wasn't really that hard in fairness. You could get much better value building it yourself and if you did a build log here Im sure the folks would help out. :)

Something like this could work also

I'd be worried about damaging the parts, prebuild or the configuration I don't want a monitor included in the spec the 1000 is tower budget only I've set a separate budget for a monitor

Much more OOMPH with SSD, fast memory, R9 280X gpu, water cooled CPU, Wi-Fi. And if you like going to LAN parties, you can pack this case into a bag and carry it with you :)
You could probably save a bit by taking smaller PSU, but the ones I'd choose were out of stock.

If I do it myself will I not be losing Out on overclocking as I wouldn't know we're to begin. Spending all that money an then possibly making a huge error makes me feel I'll at the thought of it

Overclocking is easy as ever, I'd never done it before manually till last week and it was really easy

There are fail safes in place to avoid damaging your hardware and plenty of experienced overclockers on the forum, including the UK #1 Overclocker 8Pack.

You can find tutorials on building a PC on YT which should also help. Do you have any mates who could assist or anyone you know on the forum close to you who could help build it?

The final alternative is to request OcUK to build it for you once you have purchased the parts, there will obviously be a charge for this service. You however will have to install the OS.

Tbh no, but if you want to get the best performance for your money, yes. Components are basically made to overclock now, whereas they used to be able to to but not made to

I think this is the best idea. Do I need to over clock any of the systems being recommended or are they going to be ok as stock

You don't have too, but there is scope to overclock if the hardware supports it!

Not entirely true, my old 386/486 & Athlon used to overclock. The ability was there, but it wasn't as easy/accessible back then.

Yeah, but manufacturers now build their components with overclocking in mind, with the fact that they know people will be overclocking :)
