Got my eye on a new NVidia 780 GTX but before I drop £400 on one I am wondering if they are due to come down in price in the next couple of weeks?

Also, can someone tell me the most stable driver version to use with a 780 GTX please? I am after stability over performance.

i5 4670k cpu, Asus Gryphon mobo, AX860 psu and i'll be gaming at 1440p res. I have a 670 gtx which seems to run fine but the new case is smaller than the one I have so I need a GPU which exhausts heat out the back instead of into the case.

Unless you can see into the future, who knows! Just keep a look out for the daily offers to see what pops up if you can wait. There's a few good offers on at the moment.

Just install the latest drivers, they're perfectly fine.

Should be fine with any GTX780 at sub £400 they are all pretty similar and there are some good deals to be had at the moment. The card I have is the Gainward Phantom GLH GTX780 is only £379 at the moment which is a bargain for what you get.

going to be making a similar purchase shortly. just trying to decide on the brand. currently out of Asus, Gigabyte, evga or msi.

Kinda wish there were more information out there on things like noise etc for each offering.

There's an EVGA card with an all black style blower cooler and another with a titan style cooler. The all black blower style cooler is £30 cheaper so is there any major difference in cooling performance between them?

If you do a internet search for the specific card and brand you will find most cards on a review site and usually they do noise tests and such for comparison.

I had a EVGA 780 SC ACX which was very cool and quiet, i now have a EVGA 780 with a Titan cooler and i love it, its cool and almost as quiet and overclocks really well, easily matching the SC version, not much difference in price, tho i got mine for £300 second hand, paid £430 for the SC ACX when the fell in price, the titan cooler look great in a windowed case, other wise dont matter what you have, compared to AMD offering they are all cooler and quieter no matter which brand or cooler type you have, just get the when thats the best value :) driver wise there is no issues there at the moment
