Noticed some oil on my driveway yesterday evening, checked the oil and it was a tad low so i topped it up (oil is black, it is due a service soon) and there is some white/grey ish smoke coming from the exhaust that has an oily scent to it.

Checked under the oil cap and there was no mayo looking stuff under there nor under the brim. Car is a 1999 vauxhall corsa 1.4 16v. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Oil pressure switch is prone to leaking on the old Corsa. My brother had the same problem.

Google it, it's very easy to spot it and the leaking oil if that's what your problem is.

Cheap fix, new oil pressure sensor.

*might not be this, but a quick thing to check

Did the smoke only appear after you topped up the oil?

Burning oil produces a blue tinted smoke. White is either water vapour or coolant (which gives a sweet smell) and grey could be overfueling.
