Can anyone recommend some annual maintenance, gas cert and emergency cover for gas, boiler and central heating?

I've looked at British Gas, and they seem to offer a pretty comprehensive package (includes plumbing and electrical cover too) with no excess for £30/month, having never been a landlord before I'm not sure if that's good value for money.

I think it's all ok if you have a modern system, if you have anything remotely out of date they insist you have it changed at your cost or they won't insure it.

It's all pretty new, the gch and boiler are 18 months old I think?

Is £30pcm a reasonable deal though or does it sound expensive is I guess the main question. Obviously BG can do things on volume because of the size of the company.

British gas always cost more than using a local gas fitter but they do offer the "all in" service so I suppose it depends whether you think it's worth it.

You'd probably pay less to do it through an independent but if you pay the premium, you've got to do less legwork yourself.

I'm leaning towards BG mainly because we will be absentee landlords (not my ideal situation but we're only becoming landlords because of relocation).

I use BG for landlord cover as it means if there is a problem they come out quickly with no call out charges. I've been very happy with the service and I think £30 pcm is reasonable for the service.
