*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Just taken the plunge and ordered one of these, genuinely excited about a console for the first time in years!

Guy's, I'm after a Wii U Pro controller, a white one to be exact as I regrettably didn't buy one at launch but shopping around they appear to be in abundance. The ones that i can find on line are extremely expensive, is that because they phased out the white Wii U?

I have seen them for sale at a 'reasonable' price on play Asia but have had no experience buying from there before. I have also seen them on E-bay but they appear to be cheap third party 'knock-off's'. Any advice?

What do you mean by extremely expensive? A genuine pro controller should be around £35 I think anything cheaper than that is probably fake/knock off. I would guess you could link what you are looking at here as ocuk don't sell them.

Well for example i have found the white controllers on Amazon and they are £45:eek:

Yeah, I found it very hard to find a white pro controller at a reasonable price also :(

I ordered a used one that is meant to be in very good condition from a Canadian seller on ebay for around £26. Should hopefully be here this week.

I was about to use play asia but their postage price put me off. Last time I used them was in 2003, they were fine.

Picked up Zelda: WW & Rayman Legends at the weekend, loving them both so far.

My Wii U is setup in our bedroom where I can relax and just play on the gamepad screen (thus not waking my wife....).

A quick shot from Zelda being played on the gamepad (direct screenshot using the built in feature):

Very nice visually for what is an upscaled gamecube game. Rayman also has a very nice Art style and is buttery smooth in motion.

Are you aiming for 100% or just to complete storyline? I was on around 30% complete when I finished the main story.

Aiming for 100% :D. I think I was on around 20-25% when I finished main story, just started to go back and collect what I missed. So much stuff to collect, end doesn't seem in sight :D.

I went to trade into cex today to trade in Beyond two souls and buy Metal gear solid HD collection, I walked out with Nintendo wii and donkey country returns! the game brings back so many good memory's. I will buy a Wii U when i see good sale I have made a list of games I'm planing to buy have I missed any?

Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Super paper Mario
Warioland shake it
Zelda twilight princes

Not going to buy mario kart 7 or smash bro as I will get them on wii u

IIRC textures etc where also re-done for the game.

But yes it is visually stunning! Need to finish it actually, not far away from it. I quite like the whole bottle system too, o and 'fast sail' is well worth the hassle of picking up. Makes the game much more enjoyable.

Whole game wad redone,
Its one of those opnes where you think it lok vagely similar onm the gamecube, Look at the photos though and you will see it absolutely did not. Lush game.
MAde perfect on the Wii U in my opinion.

Has anyone actually bought a Wii u or a console second hand from a retailer/e-tailer?

Found a Wii U with Mario/Luigi U for £159 from grainger games, but I'm a bit dubious about buying second hand from a company I've never heard of that much.

Grainger are interesting. They have a habit of selling new games that then come unsealed - no idea about their hardware sales though. I don't see why second hand from them should be any different from the likea of eBay, and that's perfectly safe.

My only gripe is they don't list the condition and it states only Faulty units may be returned. which puts me off slightly.

I have wanted a Wii U for a while now, but been put off because of the lack of games that I like (which isn't an issue now).

Really annoyed that the rainforest deals went up by atleast £40

I read that on Wii u games that come New they actually take out the club reward card and claim items to sell in-store, which is why they are unsealed.
