Personal feeling is that the car looks superb and the powertrain, even detuned significantly would be rather special.

I hope they build it.

Is it me or does the car look like a BMW

Current owner of a Skyline 350GT so I will be watching this closely

Based on what?

If I wanted a fast saloon, I'll have the new M3 thanks. At least that actually exists.

GTR engine in a saloon car.

Massively established tuning scene already.

If this has even 50% of the GTR handling then we are onto a winner.

yeah they dont have the brand recognition of Audi/BMW or merc to sell them in droves but I think based on performance this could be a serious competitor.

What I don't get is this...

in SuperGT the nissans run v8 engines. .

but the GT-R engine would be a major selling point based on the fact it is a GT-R engine and no other reason.

obviously this is a concept being shown at a motor show and was in no way insinuating that it did exist.

the point of the thread was to highlight a genuinely interesting car concept.

Sounds good except the gtr engine is inferior and they could say the 56 is a SuperGT engine..

I know, I just found it odd that someone hails it as an "excellent machine" when it remains a concept with no sign of production.

Certainly an interesting concept, but pretty tough competition if it ever sees the light of day.

inferior technically maybe but ultimately it has a mainstream tuning community and mods for it are established and plentiful. its more of a headline grabber in my opinion.

Looks like a Lexus/Mazda hybrid, I prefer the Lexus IS-F myself, but this sounds tasty and looks nice. The GT-R engineers must be mad that there speshul engine has been nicked for this.

Infiniti are owned by Nissan, it's likely the same engineers who developed the GT-R worked on this.

I know, but the GT-R engine is a specially designed hand assembled engine that was exclusively for the GT-R. I'm sure I read somewhere that the GT-R team weren't happy with donating the engine for the Q50.

Don't like the back styling at all - thats one thing I always liked about the GT-Rs - they managed to make the back look as good as the rest of the styling, something many car designs struggle with.
