Nice profit for a 'New' IP and not something with an already massive following like a superhero movie.

Hope they make more, because who doesn't love seeing giant robots fighting giant monsters?

Del Toro says the second film won't be a sequel but will be exploring other ideas in the Pacific Rim universe.
