My car says "Once a week, or when you fill up with fuel". I assume this is pretty standard, but I need data of what's in other handbooks that I can evidence.

So I’m asking for any 2002-2006 car owners to give me the following from your handbook:
Make/Model/Year – oil check interval

Why not just check it once a week or when you fill up with fuel then?
Why does it matter what other cars are?

Just looking through a 2006 car handbook here, there is no mention of any oil, of any kind, at all!

Or fuel for that matter.

So to answer your query-

Reva/G-Wiz/2006 - Oil check interval of never!

Ford Focus 2006 manual regarding oil checks

Check when refuelling
• Engine oil level. See Engine oil
check (page 218).

ENGINE OIL CHECK
WARNING
Do not use oil additives or other
engine treatments. They are
unnecessary and could, under
certain conditions, lead to engine
damage which is not covered by
Ford Warranty.
The oil consumption of new engines
reaches the normal value only after
approximately 5 000 km (3 000
miles).
Make sure the vehicle is standing on
level ground. Check the engine oil
before starting the engine. If the
engine was running, switch it off and
wait some minutes for the engine oil
to flow back into the sump before
checking it. Pull out the dipstick, wipe
it with a clean, non-fluffy cloth,
re-insert it completely and pull it out
once more.
If the level lies between the marks,
there is no need to refill. Hot oil may
exceed the MAX mark by some
millimetres due to thermal expansion.
If it lies at the MIN mark refill using
only engine oil meeting the Ford
specification.

How very random

Nothing I can see in the e46 manual about frequency of checks, only how to carry them out and the meaning of the amber oil light etc (i.e it's low, top up)

Alfa 147 1ltr of selenia per 1000 mules

So predictable was it I never bothered checking the dipstick just added a ltr every other fuel fill

Renault Clio 1.5dci 2004 - only bit I could find about checking oil levels.

Oil change frequency: Check the oil level from time to time and always before long journeys, to avoid the risk of damaging your engine.

The dashboard on my E36 has a sticker by the fuel gauge to remind you to check regularly. I do about once a month, it never moves.

The Golf again never moves. Ill check every couple months.

Do you mean the search on what type of oil a car needs? Unfortunately that doesn't give me the info I need if so, but thanks.

Does it not mention it at the bottom of the Castrol page?

E.G. When I pop the details in for my car (2003 BMW 330ci), it shows this at the bottom:

a. All models with service indicator: oil change interval varies with driving conditions, typically 15000 - 18000 miles/24000 - 30000 km (Depending on year of manufacture)

2004 SL500 Mercedes - doesnt even have a dipstick.

Surely all cars this "modern" are going to have sensors, i never check the oil on any of mine.
