Is video capture bugged with bf4? I pressed my share button but no last 15 minutes of play video has been saved.

Pretty gutted because im sure I hit an rpg with my 40mm grenade right in front of me :(
 
it's basically like a internet refresh rate.

it would require more bandwidth and more processing power and ram, etc i imagine.

i don't see how it's a big problem i used to play CSS 10 years ago on 66-100 tick servers.

so 10 years on and we are getting 16 tick servers on PS4 is a joke.

In this day and age, you would have thought it would have been upped!

I hate their response to it though saying "they don't think it will make that much difference..." ermmmm at least try it since it's one of the main issues!

if they don't think it will make a difference they are morons. 16 tick for FPS is terrible.

with CSS some servers forced you to use their minimum tick rate or greater or you couldn't join for this specific reason.

e.g. say the server was 66 tick and my tick rate on my client was set at 40 tick, i wasn't allowed to play on the server. if i upped mine to 100 tick then i would be allowed to play on the server, etc.

it's the reason why you can kill someone and they kill you at the same time, because by the time the internet refreshes you have both killed each other. if you upped the tick rate it would reduce this a lot, the person who fired first would/should win if guns are equal, etc. would also stop the being killed in cover, etc.

the main public server i used to play CSS on was 66 tick and 64 player.

all clan war/battle servers were usually 100 tick and 10-12 player.

your talking about 10 years ago as well, so you can see how a decade on and 16 tick is just unacceptable. i mean i would be willing to live with 50 tick if they got everything else running flawless. in this day and age though with all the advancements in broadband speed, technology, computing power and efficiency, etc i would be expecting 100 tick as standard tbh.
 
You assume though everyone playing has a good broadband.

doesn't matter with dedicated servers

upload speed is what is crucial in this situation as that is what usually restricts people with crappy internet in these situations not download as download is usually more than enough.

if you have crappy internet with a crappy upload you may not be able to send your packets as regularly as 100 tick so you would be running at say 50 tick (the amount of data sent is usually tiny though i imagine most people would be fine).

so yeah you would be at a disadvantage if you had a crappy upload but at least the game would be smooth and work a lot better for everyone with say greater than 512K upload (0.5MB).

i doubt it would even use that much tbh, i don't know how much it would use but it's not much.

basically if you have crappy internet your game may only run at a tick rate of 40 but if you have decent connection it would run at 100 or whatever it was. anyway that is no excuse for not having it set higher.

people with crappy internet shouldn't be trying to play on a 64 player server in the first place and they would be the only one lagging, all other 63 players would be running fine.

I can't believe after 6 months of the game being released they are only now looking at this kind of stuff. Developer wise I think DICE are terrible. Patches are very hit and miss also, I don't think they test!
 
To be fair, I could see DICE or a leak showing us one day how badly EA could be treating them etc, I would have given this game another year with DICE.

Saying that, though, Dice never did fix many issues still with BF3 ( sound was still broken in places till the very end) but I wonder could that come down to EA not spending the money on updates.
 
Anyone had a problem with the graphics on PS4? I was playing operation locker and the floor and walls suddenly turned colourful (mainly green and purple) I thought it might be the console dying or something but I paused the game and the menus etc. looked fine. it has only done it the once so far.

it's just a very buggy game, i spawned underneath the map once and had to wait for the game to end before i could play again.
 
Has anyone had any trouble when upgrading to Premium on PS4? I bought a code off CDKeys. It redeemed fine in the PS Store but the download arrow is greyed out and I can't download it? In the store in game on BF4 I go to 'All Items' and it says NULL NAME with a picture of BF4 Premium and the price of Free. Bellow is the white bar loading animation. Stumped!
 
It's one of the things the new patch introduced. It broke the kill cams I've seen all kinds of crazy things on the kill cams lately. It's fun when it tells you a tank killed you and and then shows you a sniper running around.

I swear they don't even test the patches because this one apparently completely broke the obliteration game type as well :p
 
The new patch has made the game worse for me. I'm getting killed through walls, Planes stop responding and I have fallen through some scenery.

They seem to fix 10 bugs but introduce 12 more in the process.
 
I seem to be getting killed in ways I just can't be, Eg; I get sniped but the guy the kill cam goes to can't even see me from where he is. I got one death on video here

Its a quirk of lag and lag compensation trying to work around the low tickrate servers with clientside hit registration.

The thing to consider is that has there ever been a scenario where you have shot someone who is not visible on your screen and not in your crosshairs? The answer will almost certainly be no. The Killcams are game decoration and sometimes they are simply wrong.
 
They have always been pretty much spot on before the patch, I can accept a little bit of delay like just getting behind cover etc but now it's a joke.....It's like they killed you 5 minutes ago but you don't know it yet.
