** MSI 290X LIGHTNING IS NOW AVAILABLE!! **

Thanks ndaar but a white PSU would not suit my rig shame this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-006-SF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2057 is not on weekly deal would Buy it now;)
as the white on is also didn't see that on the specs page recommends a 750watt PSU I should have gone to Spec savers Lol:p

I did consider that the white might not be to everyone's taste lol. There are other options such as:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic X-Series 850w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £149.99
1 x Silverstone Strider Gold Evolution 1000w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply (ST1000-G) £139.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £139.99
Total : £439.57 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Or the black version you linked. Just trying to get you the best options for the least amount of money.

As I did mention other option would be looking at a different GPU entirely, while sexy as hello the lightning 290x is expensive and you could get 2 x 290s for not a lot extra. But if your heart is set on the lightning then definitely think about buying a PSU that is up to scratch.

I think once you see what these cards can do, if you compare it to the 780Ti Classified the price makes a lot more sense. Assuming they do the numbers

I've never considered buying the 780Ti Classified so can't use it to justify this purchase instead lol.

We'll see, might end up buying it after reading a few reviews.

Is the Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 OC WindForce 4096MB coming back in stock,it's been totally removed now :( bought one last week and fancy another one for crossfire.

290 will not be Lightning or Hawk we asked that a long time back.

1000w is the safe bet with your system mate.

We have a card here at OCUK. Very brief test of memory OC 1750 is OK. IC is Samsung. Very efficient timings on it too!!

Gibbo is doing a full Air cooling slice and then I will take it to the limits!!!

Yes I shall be reviewing it on air as MSI have sent me one to review and test. :)

8 Pack also has 4-5 on the way for him to thrash! :D

Woohoo! Let's see if they're really worthy of the Lightening tag! Don't let us down guys! (that includes you MSI!) ;)

Cool stuff looking forward to these :)

Hi there

Well initial testing is very good, but we've got only +100mv voltage options on core, aux and memory. This card needs:-
+200mv core
+100mv aux
+300mv memory

It can handle the above fine.

But the Samsung IC is incredible, 6800MHz stock voltage and 7000Mhz with +100mv, think with +300mv we've got a 7200/7400MHz card. :)

Also the first SINGLE GPU card I have achieved 1000 hash with:-

P.S. Though this card is very fast at mining, its not very cost effective solution but an achievement I am very impressed by. :)

Looks like it is runs quite cool compared to some of the others whilst still being insanely quick.

Yes it has the most powerful and quietest cooler out of all of them, also the largest too. :D

VRM temps struggling to go beyond 50c is hugely impressive and the core stabilising around 60c after mining for a long time, could easily drop fan to around 40% for silence and it will sit around 78c. :)

Thanks Gibbo think I have found my new GFX upgrade end of the month might wait for a today only or weekly deal :D
