OCUK Pre Built Water Cooling Leak

You removed the screws from the block? Not sure if I would have done that if I was going to send it back to OCUK.

Well as the screw I removed was rather loose I am sure it wont make much of a difference. If it does I have found a forum that shows an exploded diagram of the block so shouldnt be too hard to dismantle.

In regards to the hardware, CS have said that as long as each part is covered by its warrentee it will be ok :)

Good idea on the cleaning front, one thing I do have a lot of is fine brushes (got car cleaning OCD). Will give it a good clean out over the weekend to get rid of the coolant.

One the plus side it at least is giving me the chance to sort out all my cables in the case :) Will be getting a load of cable ties tomorrow and clearing up the rats nest of cables I have.

If it was myself I wouldn't be dealing with any warranty claims myself on any of the components. If it was proven to be ocuk at fault I would be expecting them and demanding them to repair/replace an damaged items end of no questions asked after all it was there fault

I would be very surprised if the manufacturers warranty covered the use of watercooling components in your rig to be honest.

Your best bet in this case may be a claim on your contents insurance, i know mine covers all our electrical goods in the house and for accidental damage which would apply in this case.

Your premium would go up in the event of a claim though.

Shouldn't need to claim off insurance or warranty if either ocuk to blame or EK with a faulty part. Either way sounds as tho op is suffering at the hands of either poor QC from another party.

Put it this way if I put a motor into the garage to have my timing belt changed and it snapped on shortly afterwards who do you think would be picking up the bill? Certainly not me

Quick update,

Loop is going back to OCUK for them to replace.

Gfx card is fine, RAM is fine and motherboard is also fine (yey)

Had a heart in mouth moment when the board couldn't find the RAM, then realised I had bent two of the pins when cleaning it.

All of this has made me look at custom loops now! Sadly my case wont fit a 240 rad so I am restricted in what I can do. May keep my eyes peeled for a second hand Resenator XT, that would match my case pretty well :)

A proper custom loop is costly but if you want to try out real water cooling, a good flexible case is really advantageous and worth the money.

Carbide air 540 offers some of the best radiator options for such a small case and at such a good price too!

Alternatively, you can just ghetto mod your current case and find a place to mount the radiator externally or internally.

Yeah kind of miss a full loop. Before my current case I had a dedicated watercooling case (cant think of the name) was running sli 8800gtxs on danger den blocks (this is how far back we are going lol)

Decided to sell it when I upgraded and got the zalman.

Good shout on carbide, not heard of them.
