Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

Anyone know if I can somehow download Titanfall at work back it up and install it at home? I heard this is a 30 gigabyte game, at work I have fibre 37 down compared to home which is 2.5 down.

I have done this with a number of Origin games.
At work download using origin, copy folder wherever the game is to the home machine (via ext hdd or whatever) then set the download of game on home pc going and it will scream along as it checks what files it has and should all be done in a few mins.
This is how I installed BF4 and BF3 before my new pc arrived, 50gb done on a laptop a few days before then just copied to new PC when it arrived.

So a company should just stop developing more content for a game as soon as it hits gold because people will think its profiteering if they finish around the launch of the game? These studios have tonnes of staff, so why would anything take more than a month or two to be made for the game in terms of "add on" anyway?

My main problem with this type of DLC on a multiplayer only title is it smells suspiciously like pay to win.

If it is not pay to win, then it will create division within the Titanfall community for those who do not feel being charged extra for core content is right, or for those who simply cannot afford it.

For example - if better weapons/Titans are in paid DLC - it becomes pay to win. If new maps or game modes or other core elements are in paid DLC it divides the community because not everyone will buy it, and seeing as this is an online only game that is a problem. It means that Respawn will have to manage and maintain different servers based on what content players have (time consuming and expensive) or the cheaper easier option of forcing players to have the DLC otherwise they wont be able to play.

It is all paid DLC and microtransactions these days because it makes money. If, like you say, this paid DLC only took a month or so to create, why does it cost £19.99? To mitigate the future cost of developing the DLC? Hah, you mean that future DLC that is all ready and waiting on a HDD somewhere in the Respawn offices? Additionally, why didn't they just wait a month or so before going gold? It's not that long a time in the development of a game.

I think I know why. Because they saw an opportunity to maximise profit by charging people twice (maybe more knowing EA). My suspicion is that most of this paid DLC was ready at the time Titanfall went gold, but the developer held onto it to squeeze another £20 out of players who are already paying £44.99.

My suspicions are further reinforced by the fact Titanfall is published by EA, and their methods are well known.

I think it is disgusting, but that is just my opinion. We will have to agree to disagree :)

If the DLC is already made and sitting on Respawns servers somewhere or not, I will buy it regardless. This is mainly due to me not wanting to be the odd one out when everyone else I play with has the maps and don't really care about EA's business model etc.

This is likely a game I will put many many hours into and so a few new maps down the road every now and then keeps things fresh, for me that is what I am paying for with the season pass.

Cancelled my CDKeys pre-order of £25.99, upgraded to deluxe version through mexican vpn for £28.25.

Thus season pass cost me £2.26 for the upgrade... bargain!! :D

Well pleased with that. Looking forward to it now.

Pay to win is my biggest concern with the game at the moment, but we won't know anything until the game comes out.

Eh??? It's not F2P, no microtransactions. Thus not pay to win. OK, DLC may have weapons, but at the price I bought it at, there's no reason not to get the season pass anyway.

Titanfall for PC through Mexican Origin.

Use Hola for Chrome, or another free VPN if you want.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...ternet/gkojfkhlekighikafcpjkiklfbnlmeio?hl=en

1. Go to www.origin.com and turn on Hola and choose Mexican (Will be in Spanish but use Google translate if needed)
2. Put Titanfall in the basket (Standard will be 499 mexican dollars. Digital Deluxe will be $599 MXN)
3. Open shopping basket and click proceed from lower right corner
4. Disconnect from your proxy just before logging in to Origin.
5.Log into your origin account (and change page language to English if needed)
9. Buy it like normal, (If using Paypal, just stuck in a random Mexican address)
10. Order will complete as normal and you will get confirmation email and Titanfall now in your origin account!

Just followed the above and I think it all went ok. I paid 599 in funny money and have Titanfall in my Origin account with a pre-download of the 10th and a season pass with coming addons listed...

Nice guide..

Cheers
