Summer is on it's way, temps are warming up  :p

would it be worth replacing the TIM on my GPU's to Liquid metal ultra/pro ?
If so what drops could I expect (Top card currently idle 34c, Bottom card idle 31c. Load - Top 74c, Bottom - 65c)

Also does anyone know how to change keplers love to throttle it's cores at 70c to a more respectable 80c (isit even possible using custom bios?)

I got lucky an official EVGA 680 4 GB FTW Bios a bit newer than my cards stock Bios let me run 85C with no throttling.

I though it was BS when I read others had a non throttlng Bios as the one it came with was 70C then throttled.

I then modded it the same as the stock Bios had done to it using Kepler Bios Tweaker and was happy till I got this new card.

Yeah I'm running a custom bios on my bottom card allowing for upto 135% power target from 122%, left volts alone. The cards are amazing, very quiet but obviously SLI and summer don't go well together. And If I were to turn the fans up on the GPU's they would lose that quiet appeal, Adding a side fan would probably help but would also ruin the aesthetics of my case.

Your 85c bios sounds amazing can't say i've seen anything in KBT to correlate to throttle temps though so might have to get you to upload that bios for me ;)

Nothing in KBT can sort throttling, as I said I though peeps claiming to have non throttle Bios were talking BS.

I simply used the proper but newer Bios for my GPU and it did not throttle so I then did the same tweaks to it as I did to the older Bios and it still did not throttle.

This is the untouched newer EVGA Bios for my 680 4GB FTW version : 80.04.28.00.80 or 80.04.47.00.82 < would need put card in PC to know what build it is.

Check your build number and see if you can get the same for your 670 as most times there are same builds.

http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/ < Not sure if that is where I got the Bios, there is a few sites but it was one of the famous sites but as its supposed to be a default Bios it should not matter if same build.

NO!!!!

don't try it it doesn't work it just increases temps more, its just too thin to make any decent contact,mx4 is far superior on gpu's vs the liquid pro/ultra

tried it on my 7970,went back to mx4 and knocked off a good 20c

^^ As above, I ended up hotter on as GTX 260 and a GTX 285 redoing TIM as its a large gap to fill and get right.

Those cards had one piece coolers unlike newer Nvidia GPU's where you can do GPU Core without disrupting the Memory pads that are not supposed to be reused after being compressed initially.
