Went up to Bristol today to buy my new car. Lovely drive, lacks power compared to the 280hp 2.0t FSI I had before it (and drowned) and seems to have an exhaust valve so it sounds nice at idle then no noise then exhaust drone at 3krpm, I need to figure out how to disable that so it makes the nice noise all the time like my 2.0T did. Only 28k miles, one owner, FASH etc. Avus Silver. (Silver with blue mixed in).

I don't have many plans for this other than to enjoy it, fit an arm rest, fit cruise control, eventually I would like some genuine BBS CH's but I have no idea what to do suspension wise when it comes to this and it won't happen for a year or two anyway. I will run it until it hits 60k and then sell it.

I have some basic pics, off an iPhone and not edited in any way, I was dodging traffic to take these so bare with me... includes the dog too. And one of my old car.

Going to take it into Audi next week as the one touch windows work on all but the drivers side

Car is awesome tbh.

Please don't make this a picture critique thread any such posts I will RTM.

Thanks!

Forget adding the wheels. Just enjoy it for what it is and try keep it in good condition. Then sell it at 60k miles or whatever.

Is it not just a matter of resetting the one touch?

My Audi sometimes goes funny like that. Google the reset procedure.

Looks a tidy example, 1.8T? How does this compare to the 2.0, in terms of power and economy, I guess they are fundamentally similar apart from capacity?

Previous car 2.0 tdi 140hp 116k 2003 early dsg, this car 2008, 28k, 8p2 facelift, 1.8t FSI S-Tronic.

Very different ecu and emmissions control. 1.8t is far simpler but not sure which is more durable though

Going to fit arm rest myself or find a cheap shop to do it. All you need is the arm rest and bracket and a drill and some special bolts.

Cruise control I am going to pay audi to do circa £225 because it needs coding into the car. Going to use that as an excuse to get the S-Tronic update software which will not have been added because the car has not had its 40k mile big service.

Does anyone know how you control a cd changer with an Audi Symphony ii+?

The Symphony itself has a 6cd changer built into the unit however there is also another audi 6cd changer in the glovebox. AUX seems to be for the iPhone adaptor and not this changer? Thanks.

Great engine, same as I have in my Octavia and no timing belt to worry about.
Watch for water leaks from the front of the engine though, I had to replace my water pump.
