aaah, yeah, i think your right actually, i think its the trade that protects all of them, didnt know it was legal to kill them though =( Newts are boss!

I agree, newts are cool. Wikipedia says European Law protects all newt species from any kind of interference but British Law only controls the sale of common newts.

yeah, just wiki'd it myself actually. Yeah, the EA were worried when they were cleaning the pond because we had the crested newts by us. but they said they would probably die anyways if they didnt try relocate them for a period, and we had a pond not more than half a mile away, so they moved them to us for a months holiday!
