I use unique email address for all my registrations.

Recently I started getting high profile scam emails (pro-porting to be from BA) being sent to both my unique email accounts used for Hamachi and Logmein.

I raised a ticket to them asking why this would be the case (ie: how did scammers obtain these email addresses?), which they basically ignored and closed. I re-raised it, and this also seems to have been ignored.

I've deleted all my Hamachi/Logmein software now... just incase...

I am getting Gamefly password requests even though I never used it or its predecessor Direct2drive.

Ignore them and mark as spam.

It's not the fact I'm getting requests, it's to what address I'm getting the requests. To email addresses I've only used once, to register an account with Logmein/Hamachi.

The fact these are now being spammed, tells me these accounts (email addresses at least) are now in the hands of spammers/scammers.

Well weirder for me as I never joined the sites above I mentioned.

So yes e-mail is out there and I joined a NBZ site 1+year ago and it used crappy Bitcoin for payment.

Anyway I never got a coin in the end by bidding so someone the sites a forum sold me one for a little profit (£17) and I joined using it.

Now after that 1 attempt to buy a coin once again my e-mail is attached to long list of peeps emails that last week leaked due to a Bitcoin outfit collapse and scam asking to buy my coins I do not have.

It could be that (and I'm not 100% sure something like this even exists) the person (or group) sending those out is using the e-mail equivalent of a dialling computer and is sending out SPAM at random to see if the account is active or not, and if it is then they'll sell the information on to other SPAM senders as an active account.

Again, I should mention that this is just a theory, but it could be something that is being used.

A random email address generator? Too unlikely.

I've had scam emails sent directly to specific and unique address linked only to Hamachi/Logmein, and only used to register with them.

I think they've sold details on, or there's been a breach!

Many years ago I started getting targeted advertising emails to an another email address of mine; One I'd used only to insure my car. I traced it and my insurance company had sold/given my account over to another company. I followed it up and had them remove the details.
