Best way to proceed? (ebay question)

Sold a few cheap PS3 games, 4 weeks ago to various sellers

One seller in particular, paid whilst I was at work, so I sent it "the next day"
so the day I sent it, I got an email from him saying "No Game where is it?"

which I replied nicely saying that I sent it today

2 days later I got a reply he said "still no game???"

so I sent another reply saying its probably delayed because of the recent floods or something, could be any reason (however I sent it 2nd class as stated on my auction)

so he replies and basically says no floods in Essex ?????



so I replied and basically said, give it time, wait until Monday to see if it turns up

that was the end of it, until today, I went thought all the auctions that haven't been left feedback for, and I've emailed them all asking for feedback, and I got a response saying "When it turns up"
so within 4 weeks I haven't heard nothing from him!
on checking his feedback he's left for others, he has left loads of negative comments saying "no game turned up" or "wasn't sealed" etc. etc.

sounds like to me he gets his games and money back


if he does the same to me (which I think he will) what should I do?

and no I didn't send it recorded :( I will from now on though

on low priced items recorded isnt worth it but its a risk
this risk didnt pay off

hes a scummy b****** but they are out there (i know about that this week)

send a poo in the post if it makes you feel better (or not)

basically he got a free game, best you can do is get the fees back, not even sure about that in this case
 
If enough people report dodgy buyers then ebay investigate them, so if several people have already reported them, they may not get away with it

I didn't think sellers couldn't leave neutral OR negative for ANY amount? is that not the case?
sold my PS3 for £170+ and I didn't have the option
 
Maybe the guys postie is on the mega fiddle and yoinks anything in a DVD case. Maybe he is a dodgy little turd. Where in Essex does he live ? Romford ? ;p

If it's been 4 weeks I'd be a tad annoyed if I'd paid for seomthing and it's not here yet.
It's 14 days iirc before RM will count something as "lost", after this time the buyer should be refunded and you take it up with RM.

Wether he's just scum, or the postal service in his area is on the fiddle, what does that mean?...

Nowt tbqh, you sold something on eBay and you didn't send recorded, you're asking for something like that to happen.

If by posting receipt you mean a certificate of postage then hop on down to the PO and claim the full £20 as they've lost your item. TBH the buyer should have been refunded long before now.

EDIT just noticed you also sent 2nd class FML, think you're covered for less than £20 but it's deffo worth asking at the PO

You could always contact the sellers of the other auctions, if for whatever daft reason they all sent "standard mail" then get in touch with eBay as it could be the buyer is utlilising the description to his advantage. If this does turn out to be the case I'd be blocking him on further autcions and leaving "poor positive" feedback

What are the chances of them actually paying out on this?

I ask as my gf recently sold something on ebay that never turned up. She refunded the buyer, and sent off the claim form to RM, along with all the evidence they requested. This was about a month ago, and we haven't heard anything since...

No, that's the earliest you can claim, a bit further down: "Claims for loss must be made within 80 calendar days of the date of posting"

So basically you have a window from 16-79 days after posting to claim

Edit: although it's a bit cheeky you have to wait 15 working days, and only up to 80 calendar days to claim
