Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

Hmm melee doesn't seem op at all to me, there should be no way they can sprint to you before you mow them down. The shotgun on the other hand seems to be the king of short and medium range. Having played with it for a little while it seems way more effective than the other guns...
 
Shotguns always seem to be OP in most shooters I've played. Was playing Rising Storm the other day and managed a ridiculous 90m headshot with the M1897. It was the same in the various Call of Duty games too so I'm not surprised to hear of another shooter where a shotgun is too powerful.

Loving the charge up Rail Gun. Although it slows you down significantly it takes a big chunk off a Titan if you get a hit. Keep to the outside of the map and get some decent long range shots in.

Seems to be many more people using the lame Smart Pistol compared to beta?

Yeah it's amazing.

I hardly ever get killed by the smart pistol tbh. I can probably count on 1 hand how many times I've been killed by it.
 
Anyone get this error DISCONNECT: Origin error retrieving player data from storage - code 503. Unable to play TF now.
 
I'd love to know how developers make PC games which don't run well on any driver in existence and depend instead on drivers that don't exist yet to run well.

What drivers do they use to make the damn game in the first place?
 
After a good 5 hours last night it can be the most frustrating game ever all it takes is a few players sticking together to destroy a whole team, but the worst thing of all is having someone on your titan and your team mates all around you doing nothing.

Game runs great with the newest Nvidia drivers but still waiting for the fps cap fix and SLI support to get the 120hz working at its best.

Tried the forcing vsync off in drivers but the game became so unbearable had to put it back on, not used to 60fps..
 
Got it all downloaded ready for when I got home last night.

Get home and the missus says she's had a bad day, so can I watch a good film with her and generally make a big fuss.

damn women, I need to kill stuff!

totally got some boyfriend points though.

Only problem is, have training tonight so won't be back until 10pm!
 
Used the VPN method myself to play last night. It's great fun to play, but it feels a little "lite" on features. I miss the Halo 3 days when you could replay any match you had from anyone's perspective, then review a tonne of data on the website about the games you'd played. It's like Respawn made no effort to provide any more than the basic game mechanics (which are top notch, granted), such a shame when other games set the bar so high with accompanying features :(

Apparently, it's more like a 20GB download but they then unpack all the files (including 35GB of audio) to make a 50GB installation directory.

Bit ridiculous that we all have the foreign language audio all unpacked and ready to use but will never use those files... muppet developers could have given some options on install!
