Didn't think Intel CPU's could idle below 1.6Ghz?

Is this normal?

Fluctuates between 448Mhz and 1.6Ghz on idle... Didn't think Intel chips could go below 1.6Ghz??

Boosts up to 5Ghz just fine still.

I forget how long Haswell's been around (Like over 6 months) so I've been 800MHZ for as long as that, but it should be the multi lowering, your "bus" (Because I never remember the correct name, I always mess up the order) shouldn't be lowering.

The fsb shouldn't fluctuate much, only the CPU multi

Only haswells can idle lower than 1600mhz due to the onchip vrm's and newer c7 idle state

The ivybridge i5 in my laptop will clock down to 800mhz. Stays there if I'm in power saving mode too, and it's surprisingly responsive to use for basic things too!

Seen plenty of chips that will drop to 800-1000MHz when idle the i7 in my laptop drops back to 10xxmhz in lowest power state.

I would update the motherboard BIOS, that is very strange and the bus speed shouldn't drop and should be at 100 or near about.

Other thing is have you tried another program to make sure it's not CPUZ reading the CPU data wrong ?
