Corsair K70 resonance ping

Hey guys.

So I recently got the Corsair K70 (gunmetal grey, cherry mx blue), and unfortunately a number of the keys have a very loud and noticeable resonance ping, regardless of force applied to the key. The ping has the same noise level even when the key cap for any of the keys is removed, and the button is gently pressed down.

After a lot of searching around, this problem seems to be prevalent in Filco Brown keyboards, but there doesn't seem to be much said about it with Corsair ones. Given the price of the keyboard, I'm more than a little disappointed, and the only reason I haven't returned it for a replacement so far is simply because I have no backup, and you're talking 1-2 weeks replacement time.

This is an example of what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hezGqKHvpkI

Does anyone on here have any experience with this and advice on whether or not I should return it?

Not really seeing what the issue is here, mechanical keyboards do vary in the sounds each key makes due to the fact they are all individual switches. For instance my K70 (brown switch) the number keys sound different compared to the letter keys, and the '5' key had a distinct spring ping sounds when I first got it however after a good month of using it that has broke in.

The problem is that the majority of the keys on this keyboard have a distinct resonance ping, so rather than just get the regular clicky mechanical keyboard sound, I'm also getting a constant metallic dome noise from the keys, like someone taping the inside of a metal pot with a teaspoon.

How long have you had the keyboard, have you given it a chance to break in yet? If you still believe something is wrong go for an RMA, message Greybeard here on the forums and I'm sure he will sort you out just fine.

I have the same keyboard, and yes one or two keys make that metallic springy sound after releasing the key.

Not overly fussed if I am honest, I thought it was due to the mechanical nature of the switches underneath the keys ?
