Throw some ideas at me - £3-5k

I was going to get a newish Suzuki swift sport and ideally that is still the plan, but just for the sake of it with £3-5k to spend what would be your car of choice?

Do not mind the number of doors, would ideally like 1.6 as I have 1.2 at the moment and it is just painful, a few mod cons would be great as well.

What have you OCUK?

what fuel econ you looking for?
Can you afford crazy insurance and large repair bills or do you want something reliable and cheap to fix?

for 3-5k you could have anything from jags to type R's unless it needs to be exactly a 1.6.

I presume insurance is an issue. Do you do many miles? What sort of running costs can you afford?

No doubt a great little car but you'd really have to want a Lupo GTI to take one over a Swift.

Have a look at the Colt CZT or newer Ralliart, if you want a turbocharged alternative to the Swift, the Colts are nice little cars, though personally prefer N/A and the Swift is a lovely characterful car.

Can you broaden the options a little, not every here wants a car with 4 wheels under £5K
