I figured that there would be more interest here rather than Sound City (hence I've put it here)

Personally I have never tried comparing high quality audio with 'ultra' high quality audio. Some say that the difference between FLAC and 320kbps mp3 is negligible as it is, so why do we now need 9000kbps tracks?

They don't even mention that you'll need some seriously good cans or speakers to actually be able to tell the difference.

The music store sounds like a good idea, but as it's DRM free, why wouldn't we just use an existing FiiO player which will be cheaper and will have endless expandability?!

Apparently there are circa 8000 people who like this enough to pledge (and that's an average of about £325 from each backer.). I guess it has had a lot of famous people behind it, but I just don't see a need for the player!

What do you guys think? Do you care? Have you given some money towards the project?

Not really, however it would be nice if it success (don't mean kickstarter) but forces other plays and stores to support flack.
Gone are the days we need small files, we have an abundance of storage.
I always get 320 MP3 anyway and the headphones I use I wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

Wait, so buy a new music player (and have to carry another device around with me) and have to enter into a new store ecosystem that'll render my years and years of iTunes purchases redundant?

Yeah, **** that.

You were the second last person I'd expect to actually give me a valid answer :D

Thanks for your input :p
