Giffgaff 4G or 3 4G?

ok pac codes received, wife is now on ovivo :D

for me, its between:

Ultimate Internet SIM 600 12 months £15.90 per month
or
The One Plan 12 Month SIM Only £20 per month

the tethering aspect of one plan is appealing, i do use it now and again on my current t-mobile contract (max twice a month), not so bothered about mins, 600mins is plenty, both have all you can eat data

so the question is, is the tethering worth £4.10 extra per month?

EDIT: one plan ordered :)

Im on Giffgaff and swapped it from a 3g sim to 4g sim this morning and its working fine on 3g. Thinking about moving over to Three now that the 4g prices have been released because the giffgaff prices seem abit crap compared to Threes. Also getting a bit fed up with the 3g speed I seem to get most places I go

I am currently on the £10 GoodyBag and I have a Nexus 5 so theres nothing stopping me putting my name down for the 4G trial and swapping SIMs as it's going to cost me nothing extra.

I assume if I slap a 4G simcard in the Nexus 5 I will still get 3G/2G in non-4G areas and my signal won't be effected?

I'm on the £10 Goody Bag on a iPhone and am hoping to get a Nexus 5! GiffGaff tells me I've got a 4G ready sim which I assume is not an actual 4G sim other my iPhone 4 wouldn't work.

Uh, a 4G SIM will work in any phone. It will just act as a 3G/2G SIM. That does mean you don't need to replace your SIM on the other hand, just need a 4G phone and a 4G tariff.

Not a big fan of GiffGaff any more - data allowances are a tad stingy these days and 3G speeds I've got of late in several different places are shocking. Used to average about 3-4Mbit either way in better times which wasn't amazing but completely useable and I didn't really need anything more but I'm lucky to get into 3 figure kbit/s these days.

ovivo has £5 cashback through quidco atm (only a few days left) and you can get a further bonus if you refer someone, so i ordered one and probably going to order another for the wife.

if the 0 package is too small, i'll switch to a double sim phone.

means £0 monthly bill but i get all the benefits of giffgaff minus 4G, which for free (apart from a small one off cost) you cannot complain.

hopefully ovivo don't go bust.

Since I switched to Three and all-you-can-munch data I have jumped from a few hundred meg a month to around 10GB. If the ability to download is there, you will use it. Human nature.

Doubt Ovivo will go bust. Thjey have been around for over 2 years now. Mrs been using them for 1 9 years. Had they gone bust, would have happened by now

Nope, you have to have the One plan or an add-on.

What about on Pay as You Go with the All-in-One 15 Add-on?

Its a little confusing:

Pay As You Go plans do not allow tethering. If you would like to tether, you will need to choose a Pay Monthly plan and / or an Add-On that does allow tethering.

I just can't work out if the All-in-One 15 Add-on allows tethering?

what do you download on a phone?

the only time i use the net on my phone whilst out and about is to google the price of something or sat nav.

anything else i need i just get it whilst im on wifi (apps, updates, etc)
