What film is this?

Bruce Willis is in some kind of prison handcuffed and uses a chair to break his thumb so he can slip out the handcuffs. He also swallows some small capsule on a piece of string.. I think.

I've searched everything you can imagine into google and checked Bruce Willis' IMDB page endlessly but can't find anything. I'm beginning to think it isn't even him.

Could be 12 Monkeys, but I haven't seen it in a loooong time...

This is what came to mind. Even if it's not, it's worth watching anyway as it's his best film.
