My House - The Slow Progress

I would hate to live in that bungalow in the first place purely on the fact that the OP's house looks down onto it. Even before the breeze block wall.

The wall will be harled (pebbledashed) this summer , just waiting on a few other bits so i can get it all done at the same time. When i moved in as you can see in the pictures , the neighbours down the way could see directly into the sunroom (glorified extra lounge), plus there old so nosy *******s. So a wall was the ideal solution lol!

And yes Rick , long coat Akita named Ali. Loves helping me out and keeps me company when im on my own haha.

That is an epic project. I'd love to find somewhere which hasn't been touched for a long time and transform it.

Fantastic work, love reading threads like this. One thing I would suggest, is that if you are going to plasterboard the underside of the stairs, is that you baton / strengthen them to stop any squeaks.

Well its been a long 5 months ... Work and finding time to work on the house.

But heres some progress , i know you guys like photos so ill let them do the talking!

Superb work mate, are you in the trade or all self taught? The only reason i ask is that (i'm an amateur myself) everything appears to be done to a high standard. Well done!

Looks fantastic mate! That's some epic work :)

Could I ask where did you get your kitchen from?

I noticed you've used the plastic backplate with your NEST thermostat, you know that you don't need to use it. They include the backplates to cover up holes left by removing an old thermostat. It seems a shame to use it when you've got such clean lines and a crisp paint job.

I am an electrician by trade, but I have just learned myself the rest of the work along with help from relatives/mates in the building trade, I just like to have everything done to a high standard like you say, you could say a bit OCD really lol. It can't be rocket science so not point paying someone to do it if you can learn yourself and do it in your own time :)

And yes Valo, I did know about installing the stat without the back plate. And the kitchens from DIYKitchens .

Hows the quality on the DIY Kitchens mate? i havent seen them before. Im looking for basic one for an L shape and was thinking of picking up a cheap Wickes takeaway but maybe DIY would be a better choice.

Subbed. Quality work. You said it was a steep learning curve, what have you used to guide you through this? Did you have any previous training or experience of any particular trade? Or has it all been Internet based reading up (as I do pretty much for anything I ever attempt?)

Looking very nice so far. I bet that will be one very toasty kitchen in winter with all that insulation and under floor heating.

Seems odd not seeing the fully pink room after being skimmed stage.

Just starting a renovation also, but I'm not in the trades although my brother is a plumber. Just wanted to say what a great job you are doing looks great so far.
