flight stick under £50??

i am thinking of getting a flight stick ready for elite dangerous when it goes into beta soon. i have never owned or used one before having been content with my xbox controller and keyboard/mouse setup. what would u all recommend as a first stick purchase that is good for a game such as elite (and star citizen in the future)? not bothered about it sticking to my table top as i have a large game mat covering the surface + the surface itself will not allow suckers to stick, so it needs to be a stable stick. have looked online and am interested in the thrustmaster hotas X and the cyborg fly5.

I have a speedlink black widow for xplane and fsx. It does the job just beautifully for what I need.

I'm in the same position as the OP, waiting for Elite beta, and mulling over what joystick to get.

Based on the 2 recommendations here and also the very reasonable price I think I may well try the Black Widow
