GTX780 Lightning or R9 290 - watercooled

Here is a pic of the offending sticker

Oh sticker, I misread the other post.

When fitting my waterblocks, the cards had a tiny sticker over one of the screws on the back. It is almost impossible to undo the screw without destroying the sticker.

So they do have a sticker then?! Confused much.

I'm looking at the ASUS reference card.

Oh. :o

Apologies vsg then.

MSI allow cooler removal with ocuk, even if they have stickers on the screws.

Incidentally the 2x290 VTX reference cards i have do not have stickers on the screws. I can confirm that much with assurance. They also clock up to 1275/1625 with relative ease on the reference cooler, providing i use +200mv that is. :D

I was looking at pics on the internet to find an Asus reference one to get a pic of the sticker, but other reference 290Xs did not seem to have them.

Must just be an Asus thing.

Go for VTX 290's then. Cheap as chips and no stickers. :D

Might go with the VTX then as for an extra £20 over the ASUS reference one - it's worth it for not having the screws I suppose.

Cheers

I've owned both and when under water the clocks you can get on a 290 are ridiculous and they match a 780 with much lower clocks.

I had my 1.25Ghz 290 stomping on my 1.3Ghz 780 in EVERYTHING except Crysis 3... That's the only game that the 780 was faster in.
