To be fair on one point, I can probably type faster on my iPad than I can on my wife's laptop.
Use the app called 'CloudON'. It has Microsoft Office 2010 built in... Can save to dropbox e.t.c.
No I never get this.
Look Sisko, you can just slink off back to Derp Space Nine and take that low res face palm with you. You have no idea about the laptop in question or my considerable typing skills so just go away with your fail between your legs.
You shouldn't be, after all it is GD, I tend to only post when I have something useful to say or when im in a bad mood... can guess which one it isno offence intended to you.
What do the letters e.t.c. stand for?
another apple sheep there then. To be fair though what is the point in all these tablets? I was offered one on my phone contract and all the woman could do to 'sell' it to me was for updating Facebook, Twitter etc and general net surfing?! I'm not on either Facebook or Twitter and i can surf on my phone away from my pc. They just seem pointless yet they spring up everywhere as a must have gadget![]()
not written as an insult.OP mentions woman on ipad but refers to microsoft software when trying to do work. clever marketing has made apple products popular as they're simple to use but dont have the software they require for the task at hand.....

if you read my post earlier you'll see i haven't been swept up in the tablet madness so as a result i have no idea what apps are available and if they are or are not compatible with ms office![]()
**** writing 2000 words on the screen keyboard

the surface ones seem a nice comprimise, the keyboard aint that bad tbh.Laptop keyboard = frustrating
Touch on-screen keyboard = casual
Real keyboard (cherry or similar if possible) = real work
I can see why someone would rather use touch onscreen than laptop, but given the option sitting at a desk with a decent keyboard and mouse is less stressful and more productive.
It seems you know bugger all about tablets.
I think you ought to shut up before you make a bigger fool of yourself.
Another one on his period then? I've already stated I know bugger all about tablets. The selling point that sales staff have used to me has been orientated around facebook and net surfing. No advantage over a mobile or laptop.
Edit
You'll notice though that in the op he states about his missus on an apple product but mentions the word document (microsoft) associated with pc rather than apple. He offers her his laptop with office on it but still refuses..... So even after offering her what she's wanting to use she still persists with her iPad....
