I came across a Q car that I did not know about, but would love to have one. It's a Toyota Caldina GTT (same running gear as a celica gt4). Great practicality and fast.

Any more that you members didn't know of, but came to know of?

I always seen them as an interesting option. Im sure the ones I seen were all autos though. More recently I found some silly prices for them (too expensive) but I suppose they are pretty rare.

Lots of rare jap imports of similar spec like the Mitsubishi Spacestar that came with the Evo engine etc. I always had a soft spot for the Colt Cyborg though.

Nissan Stagea looks like a bus but can be had with great spec, that's similar to the Caldina.

I forgot the name, but there was a pretty decent Nissan Pulsar with a 1.6 NA engine too.

That Caldina is still basically a birminghamtaxi special, it an avensis.

The loads of Jap variants we just dont get over here, we can thank Gran turismo for opening our eyes lol

The one I was thinking of was the Mitsubishi RVR, Evo based engine and 4wd.

The Shogun Evolution was interesting but not so much a Q car :)

What i've just purchased, didn't know it existed in this spec till a few weeks ago, 90% of the public probably think it's a diesel, little do they know its a 3.6 V6 with 300bhp.

Passat CC.

VZR ? Same car as the Nissan Almera, but called a Pulsar in Japan. At the time the SR16VE was the most powerful production 1.6 engine around. They're faster than an EK9 Type R as far as I remember, just not as well known for whatever reason.

VZR I think is the one. Had NeoVVL iirc. Pretty sure they did a proper hardcore version as well.

Ooh, didn't know about the Caldina GTT, can add it to the list in my mind of "quick but unassuming estate cars" along with the Nissan Stagea and Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4

So are the Stagea's anygood? I see some modified with the R34 Front and i think they look rather cool.

I drove a few when selling my R34 for something more practical -

R33 based ones (Series 1) have great tunable engines (or even engine swap for RB26DETT), very good traction from stand-still (0-60mph style) and very roomy but "everything" else is dire - Gearbox, horrific cloth interior and brakes all felt like they were from a mid 90's Primera and the suspension was average for an estate at best when on a stock engine and virtually lethal when combined with a 400hp+ tuned engine.

The R34 based ones (Series 2) and the new M35 ones I have no experience of so can't comment.

***However*** - IF, and it's a Huge IF, you can find a real Autech version then everything I mentioned above is null and void becuase those are amazing. I've been a passenger in one and it truly is a GTR estate, not just an estate with a Skyline engine thrown in like a normal Stagea.

I saw one of those badges recently too, I assumed it was just another "S-Line" to make people feel better about driving about with a tiny diesel
