My girlfriend is desperately looking for a specific type of game that she simply can't find
She has just got into PC gaming after I bought and built a new PC. Specs are:
i5 4430 @ 3.60
8GB 1600 RAM
GTX 750ti
120GB SSD + 1TB HDD
It's a fairly decent little rig, all built on a micro board (H81 micro ATX) in a micro case. So there isn't much worry of playing modern games at least at high setting (plays at 1600x1200).
She is looking for horror style games, zombies, ghosts, demons etc, but focused on puzzles, not a typical 'hack 'n slash' game. Something that takes thought and time to progress to the next area. If you can't complete the puzzle, no progress.
Story is pretty important too.
Other than that, I've been trying to think of games she will like that don't meet the above criteria, I showed her Dragon Age last night due to it being on the steam midweek madness deal and it's one of my favorite games. She loved the look of it so I bought it as a gift for her. Not sure if she has played it yet.
She just doesn't like the idea of modern shoot first ask questions later type of games, stuff that isn't focused on killing all the time. Not because of the killing, she feels it just detracts from other aspects in games.
As I'm writing this, I'm thinking of Legend of Grimrock... It's a fairly decent dungeon crawler. I really enjoyed having a crack at it. And the puzzles get fairly tough!
