Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

Been trying to use my Xbox controller but for some strange reason the right stick drifts up to the left. Thought it was my pad so borrowed one from work and it does the same. Anyone found out how to fix this ?? Thanks.

After googling it would seem to be a known problem that was in the beta too.

Well I was really enjoying this up until I started crashing because of materialsystems_dx11.dll. There's a 46 page thread about it on the EA forums here with people trying lots of different things to get it working but no confirmed fixes yet. I'll wait a bit longer but I might have to ask for a refund if they don't fix it soon. :(

Not really very good at this it seem. Need more practice. Might even have to try with the xbox controller. Its that fast paced im struggling with all the keys being pretty rusty at PC gaming.

Pls add me to the list, I could do with the practice.

Some of the point scoring for defenders is ridiculous

The game is to capture and hold the points, requiring people to stay and defend, hence the reward for achieving the goals of the game. You also get rewarded for attacking and capturing the points.

However, im my experience, most people seem to treat it as a team deathmatch game with some extra things that other people can do whilst they hunt around for kills!

This game is using an insane amount of vram...I am using the full 3gb and I don't even max out settings. I don't think the textures are that great for the amount of vram needed.

So is anyone growing bored of this yet?

I'm very tempted, but looking at the game play I can seen me overdosing on it for a couple of weeks then never touching it again.

It's because the game loads ALL textures into memory before the start of the round.

They don't use texture streaming like other games, they wanted the experience to be a smooth as possible.

So no hitching when you spin round fast and the engine has to load a texture into memory because it's all preloaded into GPU memory.

You also don't get that immersion breaking situation where the full res texture hasn't loaded yet so it puts a place holder low res version there, only for the new high res texture to ping in place a few seconds later (I'm looking at you Unreal Engine!).

That's pretty good actually. I also thought the textures weren't amazing but if that's why they need the VRAM then that's awesome. The game does run super smooth.

There is capturing and holding but coming stop for sitting at one flag all game is stupid.

75 points every 10-15 seconds, you have to wonder what devs think. They're heading the right way by making kills pointless in HP but not to the extent they have.

I can see myself getting bored of this, there isn't really enough content for a multiplayer game. Hopefully they'll add some stuff

I will add everyone to the list daily after work (far too much hassle doing it on a touch screen phone!).

I have not got bored yet. I'm finding it very addictive and I have only played 2 game modes properly. I am getting better bit by bit and playing with people off the forum on hardpoint was really good. Made a huge difference and we were not even on comms. I imagine a team with comms would do some serious damage! :)

Fast action, smooth as butter when playing i'm really finding it fun to play! Running up walls and rooftops I find is just sweet!...not sure how long it will last, but i'm enjoying the moment! lol

Wasn't too keen on the campaign which was...none existent. And the forced need to play it with others!...

It's a great multiplayer experience especially jumping into your very own titan, but it's very shallow when it comes to depth. Hopefully expansions/updates will cure this.

I was going to buy this friday but people are getting bored after a few days play.......mmmmm.

Also pc gamers playing with an xbox pad on a fps , must be a first ! Surely you cant aim as well , or as fast with a pad ?
