Im coming back to the UK for a bit in the summer and was wondering how much it costs now days to razz it up in my local Mecca.

I guess there's still an entry fee but how much are strips of tickets these days ?

Cant find much info online.

Isn't it about time this forum had a bingo sub section ??? :confused::D

No idea but the tax on it is going to be halved to 10%, so the blue rinse brigade will be happy.

Not something I should admit in a public forum but I used to go every sunday night in my early 30's before the smoking ban. The food was excellent and the beer was as cheap as anywhere I had ever been, I couldn't believe the coffin dodgers were keeping such a well hidden secret ;) It was quid a pint and I was paying 1990 prices for a bottle of beer!

Half the time the wife or I would win our money back for the evening.

Then the smoking ban happened (I'm a non smoker) and the numbers dropped and so did the winnings making it not worth going anymore :(

My friends and co-workers used to rip me all the time for going but if they ever came along they kept coming back :D

OAP thread. Better up my zoom so I can read that small font! Back in my day font was much larger and I didn't need these pesky bifocals! Also why is everyone so loud! Is it cold in here?

I am not ashamed to admit that I go once a week with family members. It is actually a really good night out, and I have had some nice wins. You would also be surprised by how many young un's go as well :)

@OP

I pay about £26 for an 'electronic' bingo machine at my local club (Not Mecca). You get about 26 tickets for each main game. There are also other games that are played at my club such as 'The National' , 'The Link' and 'Sweet Sixteen'.

These are all linked up to various other clubs and the prize money is very good (Usually about £2.5-3K for the link/sweet 16 house) The national is the biggest game and you could win £100K or more if you get the house in a certain amount of numbers called.

You can still play on paper tickets as well and this is about £10 at my club for a full set of 6 tickets.
