hi

Can anyone advise on good quality leds for number plate lighting.

I normally get them of ebay but all the ones I have got don't last very long. Has anyone got leds in there number plate that have lasted?

thanks

I bought these exact ones two years ago (almost exactly - I searched my email and I'm surprised the listing still exists!) and they're still going strong. Like you, I had some cheap ones that failed after a short while.

Of course the above link is irrelevant if your car doesn't use festoon-style bulbs. :)

thanks, yeah irrelevant , mine are the wedge type. My car is a ford focus 2010.

cheers though!

I recently put some in sidelights and rear number plates, mine are also the 501 wdge style bulbs. Mine were flickering from day one, luckily had my money back, not sure what to try next.

You good folks who have them installed, care to post any pics?

Every time I've seen them on the road at night they've almost always (very few exceptions like the latest cars which suit them) looked too aftermarket and borderline chav!

It's an ancient photo but IIRC it represents what they're like pretty well. They're white, no hint of blue. I can take another photo tonight and make it as accurate as possible if you like.

I think the fact that my car has circular tail lights (a bit more "modern" than just a square bit of dim red halogen light) means they fit quite well.

Hmm, are your tail lights LED clusters? Am undecided on the look still!

Have had mine in for over a year and still doing fine. When I had flickering, it turned out they were being shaken loose over time or a dodgy connection. Tbh, the ones I have are like £1 each so always have a few spare in the boot.

I have changed most of my lights to led now.
