Anyone on fibre only with no line rental tied in to that provider as the Internet will be tied to the already existing line in my grans.

1) No line rental with that provider.
2) I'm looking for a 12 month contract NOT 18/24.. these are too long.
3) No up front cost.
4) No data caps.

It seems like all the providers of fibre seem to appear to want to tie you in to their phone line, which I don't want.

Let me know if you are on any packages like that.

The fact that the package you stated requires line rental and the OP is after fibre with no line rental...

If you read the body of the original post mrbell1984 isn't after 'Fibre with no line rental' he's after 'fibre only with no line rental tied in to that provider'.

All FTTC connections will require line rental to be paid to someone.

The point is Plusnet will provide FTTC without requiring that you also take the line from them.

Correct, thanks for the clarification. It seems people are charged a premium at present for so called products.

I will keep looking.

I'm sure they used to do a "student" type tariff with a min 9 month contract.
most providers now are goign 18/24 month now on pretty much everything :(
why the restriction? most of them will allow you to move the contract if you move home.

The problem with the shorter contracts is they often require upfront cost.

I just don't like long contracts that's all. Never been a fan of them as once you are in that's it.

Its always wort checking quidco offers too, plusnet (and likely others) can get substantial cash back offers which cuts the cost quite significantly.
