Right then, mate has an interview this week coming, and one segment being what they refer to as micro teach, where you teach a concept to both other candidates as well as current employees.

Just wondered if OCUK had any ideas, I know you guys are the people to come to...right? lol.

Previous examples have been origami and wiring a plug, the time period is 10mins.

Its a finance consultancy position, however I think the key emphasis is on the way you approach the presentation, but having a unique idea would also help.

Would appreciate any help.

What's the job and what are you good at that can be taught in 10 minutes and not everyone will already know? Seeing as this is a computer forum, perhaps something IT related that doesn't require the use of a computer to teach.

Your mate should come up with a unique idea himself.

If he is unable to do so, presenting an idea from a forum as his own work lies somewhere between fraud and misrepresentation.

investment banking, as you clearly dont need to learn much other than **** away other peoples money and get the government to bail you out, shouldnt take more than 10 mins ;)

plus your mate should come up with his own ideas, if he wants the job that badly

Yeah, to be fair, I agree with some of the responses here about having to think himself, but a little help never goes a miss I guess, decent community here so thought it was worth a shot asking.

how to make a roll up in case he ever attempts to smuggles tobacco past customs.
if you get caught they ask you to roll one and if it's a fail they seize the lot.

learned this on border patrol.

alternatively teach them how to change a light bulb

Bring a set of pencils, and show the other candidates how to make them disappear, one by one, by a process of elimination, he is certain to get the job.

I had to do something very similar to this a couple of years ago as part of an interview assessment centre.

I got some Playdo and got them to make pigs out of it. I looked on YouTube for inspiration, I can't remember the clip name but the animals were modular, ie made up of lots of various size balls of Playdo.
