Martial arts after long brake from kyokushin karate

Look at Krav Maga, I've been doing it about two months and I've learnt a whole load of practical self defense in that time and it's a solid workout too :)

Sorry for asking this, but did you actually get in a situation where you had to use it?

In the two months since I started? :p no, I don't live in Palestine :D

The drills etc are really good though, multiple assailants, knife defence, drills with the lights off, defending yourself in different situations like on the Tube and other public transport. I'm still doing dead basic things but it's very varied and fun to learn.

One word of caution about Krav specifically - Krav can be good and it sounds like Daily may have found one of the good schools. However, just like back When Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting, Krav is the latest amaaaaaaaaaaazing martial arts thing to hit the streets and there are a LOT of bad schools too... as well as complete BS schools (or McDojos, as they are sometimes called).

Check them out, by all means, but be mindful.
If at any time you feel like they're training you to be some goat-staring Israeli Special Forces Jedi... away must you walk, young Padawan! ;)

Marc MacYoung usually has good perspectives on such things: http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/Krav.html#grappling

Thanks for the info, yeah I know what you mean...
The place where I'm going use to be a place for teenagers who got in trouble all the time (that's how they began, but now its for everyone). But anyway, the best source of information is experience, so I'll see if they can actually teach me something. :) Boxing ofc
